NCOA

National Change of Address — USPS database of recent moves used to update mailing lists before print.

Full definition

When residents file a change-of-address form with USPS, the new address goes into NCOA. Direct mail vendors cross-reference customer lists against NCOA before printing so mail follows movers to their new address. About 14% of Americans move each year; without NCOA, that 14% of your list bounces.
